African Christians Fellowship International or ACFI celebrates 40 years in November 2026. A boy from tribal Africa, after meeting Jesus through the ministry of RG Latourneau and rejecting the opportunities to be either a medical doctor or a televangelist, instead started an organization to bring Christ to West Africa. The war in Liberia that came soon afterward changed the ministry to also embrace orphans and start schools and bring medical help.
Ed Kofi's amazing story can be read in the book "Liberian Son" which is available in the current book selections at the entryway.
The Johns and Nyhuises will be going to the ACFI headquarters to celebrate the work of ACFI as well as the amazing 30-year connection between FBC and ACFI.
Learn more about ACFI here.
Please be in prayer for both ACFI as they continue the work that now includes dozens of churches, schools, college and medical clinic. Pray that Ed Kofi would be able to "pass the baton" to younger leaders able to carry on the ministry. Also pray and consider whether you could be a part of a future FBC team to Liberia to partner with ACFI in promoting God's kingdom there.
