Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Campaign

For over 3 decades, we’ve had a tradition at Fellowship Bible Church of providing the basics for a Thanksgiving dinner. These are given to FBC families who make a request for their own family, or on behalf of someone they know in the community, who for various reasons, would not otherwise have a special meal on November 28th.Most people can relate to how a simple act of kindness during a difficult time can mean so much more than any given material resource does by itself.
Done as an extension of God’s calling to minister to those around us, it can create, strengthen, deepen and help define relationships, and open channels of communication with those we wish to know better.
To that end, each meal will contain a greeting, an introduction to FBC, and an invitation to join us on Sunday.

How can we get involved?
If you or someone you know would be encouraged by RECEIVING a Thanksgiving meal, please let Rich Berghammer know as soon as possible.
We will be providing a turkey and a grocery gift card. Please let Rich know who will be picking up the dinner, and how many dinners (if more than one). For example, if you are picking up for yourself and another family, then we just need to know your name and that 2 dinners are needed. Dinners will be picked up at noon on Sunday, November 24th outside the Fireside Room south parking area doors.

If you would like to DONATE funds toward the Turkey Dinner Project, you can do so in several ways. Chris Potts will be collecting donations in the foyer after the service this Sunday. You can also give online with the button below, just select “Thanksgiving Meals” from the drop down menu. Or checks and cash can be designated “Thanksgiving Dinners” and placed in the boxes in the back of the auditorium. We’re hoping to have enough to provide around 50 meals.

Why we give.

God is generous and so he calls us to be as well.  What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.

Although giving is definitely a vital part of worship, at FBC we don’t make giving a major part of our worship service by passing a plate.  Rather than “taking” an offering, we desire people to “give” their offerings. We have placed clearly marked offering boxes near the doors of the main auditorium for this purpose. FBC now also accepts donations arranged through bank transfer and makes secure online giving available by clicking on the button below.

If you’d like to know a little more about giving at FBC and why we do what we do, check out FBC’s white paper on giving at this link.
