Special Bread
From the Kitchen of Jontal Corley's Grandma
This bread is called "special" because she made it for special occasions like birthdays and holidays.
INGREDIENTS
One loaf French bread, sliced in half lengthwise
One stick of butter
One packet of Lipton onion soup mix
One stick of butter
One packet of Lipton onion soup mix
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350.
*If you bake garlic bread like this, try a similar time/temp. Just watch that the little onion pieces don’t burn.
**if I forget to preheat the oven, I’ll even put it in under the broiler - which usually is fine but I’m more likely to burn it because I’m that type of cook.
- Soften the butter until very soft.
- Mix the packet of soup mix into the butter until well blended.
- Spread on the two halves of bread.
- Place bread, buttered side up, on a cookie sheet.
- Bake in the oven for 5-10 minutes. After 5 minutes it will be pretty soft, if that’s your preference.
