THE SERVICE
Nursery and Sunday school:We have a Sunday morning nursery for babies. For your child's security, you will be asked to register by filling out a short contact/health information form when you arrive. You will also receive a paging device in case your child needs you. The program for Preschoolers lasts during the first part of the service. When the sermon is over, they will be escorted to join you in the auditorium. Our elementary age Sunday School meets from 9:40am to about 10:45am (or whenever the sermon is finished). It serves children in grades K thru 5. When they are dismissed, their Sunday school teachers escort them to the auditorium. Middle School and High School students have their classes in rooms 104 and 105 starting at 9:55am. They join the adults for worship at the conclusion of the message.
Our Worship Service:Our service comes in three parts. Fellowship is from 9:30am to 9:55am. You will hear a call to worship so you can come to your seat prepared for the introductory song. The second segment is the preaching of the Bible. You will receive notes for the message in the materials you are handed at the front door. The third part involves music, prayer, and (twice a month) the Lord’s Supper. Our music is a blend of the best of traditional hymns with contemporary praise music. The order of service varies from week to week. We hope you will find it a joyful and uplifting experience. You may see a few people raising their hands during worship. The congregation usually stands during singing. There is freedom here to make sure your worship is authentic and from your heart.
We particularly want you to know that . . .You are free to express yourself in worship in whatever way is comfortable for you and honoring to God. You are invited to celebrate Communion with us if you are follower of Jesus Christ. As our guest, you will at no time be singled out or asked to do anything embarrassing. We would be honored if you would fill out a Welcome Card, but it is not expected. You are not expected to participate in the offering. You are our guest! (Since we do not collect a public offering, if you wonder how to give, there are offering boxes by the exit doors.) |
