COUNSELING MINISTRY

FBC offers a wide range of counseling to our congregation and surrounding community. We work with individuals, couples and families. Earl Oliver has been doing the majority of the counseling for the congregation over the years and has also had the opportunity to teach a course in Biblical Counseling at Northwest Baptist Seminary here in Tacoma since the 2005 school year.

Another effective part of our counseling ministry involves Bridget Honan who works with women and their unique needs. Bridget has built a reputation for wisdom and compassion that is treasured by many.

Rolando Vasquez is deeply involved in various counseling ministries to the Hispanic community in our area. He specializes in substance abuse and domestic violence issues. Rolando has also been part of this congregation for many years and is an important part of who we are as a church.

Our congregation is also blessed with other professional counselors we know and trust as allies in this important ministry. We often refer people to them when we believe their needs can be better met by someone who is more equipped in their area of need or when the need is more urgent that we can handle.
